Dr. Spector brings nearly 40 years of clinical experience, providing state-of-the-art surgical care in a comfortable and relaxed manner. Originally from Maryland, Dr. Spector completed his undergraduate and dental education at the University of Maryland and Howard University, respectively, where he graduated with honors and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society. He undertook additional dental and surgical training across hospitals in New York, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia, including a fellowship in complex oral and maxillofacial surgery at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
In addition to providing patient-centered care, Dr. Spector has long allocated time to training oral and maxillofacial surgery and general practice residents, including in his former role as Chief of the oral and maxillofacial surgery section at the Washington, D.C. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and currently as an attending surgeon at Illinois Masonic Medical Center. He has similarly contributed to peer-reviewed research publications in the specialty. Dr. Spector is the former president of both the Illinois and Chicago Societies of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and is a Diplomate or Fellow in various professional organizations: the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the National Board of Dental Anesthesiology, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American College of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons.
